Murray Gunn, MSTA, CFTe, CEWA

Senior Global Strategist Murray Gunn is a 30+ year veteran of global bond and money markets. He’s worked as a fund manager in global bonds, currencies and stocks, with long stints at Standard Life Investments, the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, and HSBC Bank, where he was Head of Technical Analysis prior to becoming the Head of Global Research for Elliott Wave International.

Trained in fundamental analysis, Murray discovered early in his career that market forecasting can benefit greatly from a perspective refined by technical analysis and illuminated by the study of social mood.

Murray’s years in the trenches and unique mix of Elliott wave and socionomic analyses enable him to look at market developments differently from economists, money managers and quants.

For instance, In 2020, when the Fed chairman declared that low and negative rates were here to stay “for the foreseeable future,” Murray alerted readers that bond yields were bottoming and that a sustained rise was imminent. You know what happened thereafter…

You don’t often get the chance to consult with a strategist who’s managed billions in global bonds, advised sovereign funds, and correctly called turning points missed by central bankers. If you’re serious about navigating today’s debt and currency markets, now is the time.

“My research weaves together herding behavior, social mood analysis, and Elliott wave structure to reveal hidden dynamics in global rates and cross-border money flows. This integrated approach helps clients anticipate turning points in yields and capital movement — and capture alpha others miss. I look forward to speaking to you about how this approach works.”
